Electrician in Jacksonville, NC

Rental repairs between tenants, panel upgrades in older homes and wiring for new stores and offices, from a licensed contractor next door in Jones County.

For landlords and property managers

Camp Lejeune keeps Jacksonville's rental market moving. Families arrive and leave on military orders, and a unit that sits empty between tenants costs money every day. A lot of the electrical work we do here is for owners who need a rental fixed and ready to list again, fast.

A typical turnover visit covers:

  • Dead outlets, loose receptacles and missing cover plates.
  • Light fixtures and ceiling fans that don't work, or were left behind broken.
  • Breakers that trip, and the circuits behind them.
  • GFCI protection in kitchens, baths, laundry and outdoors where it's missing.
  • Smoke alarms that need replacing.

We work around your schedule and your tenants, and we can coordinate access through you or your property manager instead of the tenant. If you own several units, we can handle them as they come open.

Homes from the 1970s and 80s

Much of Jacksonville's housing went up during the decades the base grew. Those houses are now old enough for their original panels and wiring to need attention, especially when someone adds a heat pump, a hot tub or a shop. We replace panels, upgrade services and add circuits, working with Duke Energy Progress inside the city or Jones-Onslow EMC in much of the county.

Wiring a new store, office or restaurant

Jacksonville keeps adding businesses along Western Boulevard and the city's other commercial corridors. When a tenant space is being built out, the electrical goes in stages, and we handle each one:

  1. Review the plans and the equipment list, so circuits match what's actually going in.
  2. Pull the permit with City of Jacksonville Building Inspections, or Onslow County outside city limits.
  3. Rough-in before the walls close: boxes, conduit, panels and feeders.
  4. Inspection of the rough-in.
  5. Trim-out: fixtures, devices, equipment connections and labeled panels, then final inspection.

Salt air toward the coast

Out toward Sneads Ferry, Swansboro and Hubert, salt air is hard on anything electrical that lives outside. Disconnects corrode, outdoor outlets fail and meter bases rust. We replace damaged outdoor equipment with weather-rated parts, and repair service masts and meter bases after storms like Florence, which dropped more than 30 inches of rain near Jacksonville in 2018.

Common questions

Can you work on a rental when the tenant isn't home?

Yes, with the owner's or property manager's permission and arranged access.

Is my home on Duke Energy or Jones-Onslow EMC?

Your power bill will show it. Inside the city it's usually Duke Energy Progress; much of the county is on Jones-Onslow EMC. We work with both.

Who issues electrical permits in Jacksonville?

City of Jacksonville Building Inspections inside the city, and Onslow County outside it. We pull the permit for you.
