One company for the wiring and the move
Most plants and shops call one company to disconnect a machine, another to move it, and then the first company back to hook it up again. CDS does all of it. We're a licensed North Carolina electrical contractor, and we also handle industrial equipment moving and rigging for machines up to 50,000 pounds. That means fewer crews on your floor, fewer schedules to line up, and one phone number to call when something has to move.
We've been doing this work out of Trenton, in Jones County, since 1994, for industrial, commercial and residential customers across eastern North Carolina.
Trusted by eastern NC manufacturers
Manufacturers we've done electrical and equipment work for include P&G, Stanadyne, Judco Manufacturing, MJM Yachts and Bijur Delimon International. Plants come back to us because the same crew can wire a line, move a machine and hook it back up.

Industrial and commercial electrical
Our industrial work covers the jobs that keep a plant, warehouse or shop running:
- Machine and equipment hookups, disconnects and relocations
- Switchgear, panels and power distribution
- Conduit runs, including EMT and rigid
- Lighting repairs, upgrades and new lighting
- Data cabling (Cat 6)
- Temporary generator connections
- Equipment and electrical demolition
See industrial electrical for the full list, and commercial electrical for stores, offices, restaurants and churches.

Residential electrical
For homeowners, we handle the electrical work that should be done by a licensed contractor: panel and service work, wiring, repairs and troubleshooting, and the transfer switches and wiring that connect a standby generator to your house. See residential electrical.
Equipment moving and rigging, up to 50,000 lbs
We move, set and prepare industrial equipment: machines in and out of buildings, equipment loaded and unloaded from trailers, units set on pads, and machinery packaged and prepared for shipping. Because we're electricians too, we can disconnect the equipment before the move and reconnect it at the new spot. See equipment moving and rigging and machinery moving.
How a machine move works with CDS
Step 1: Disconnect. Our electricians shut the machine down and disconnect it safely, power and controls.
Step 2: Rig and move. We rig it with air bags, rollers, a forklift or a crane, and move it through the building or onto the trailer.
Step 3: Set and level. The machine is set on its new spot or pad, positioned and leveled for hookup.
Step 4: Reconnect. The same crew wires it back up and powers it on. No waiting on a second contractor.
